Eligibility Criteria for UPESSC PGT Recruitment

Educational Qualification

• Master’s Degree (Postgraduation) in the concerned subject from a recognized university.
• B.Ed. degree from an NCTE-recognized institution (except for specific technical or physical education posts where specialized degrees like M.P.Ed. or relevant diplomas are prescribed).
• For Hindi: Master’s in Hindi along with Sanskrit at the Bachelor’s level, plus B.Ed.

Selection Process for UPESSC PGT Recruitment

The final merit list is prepared out of 400 marks:

• Written Examination (360 Marks): 120 multiple-choice questions (30 General Knowledge + 90 Subject-specific). Exam duration is 2 hours. Each correct answer carries 3 marks; negative marking of 1 mark applies for incorrect or multiple responses.
• Interview (40 Marks): Shortlisted candidates from the written exam will appear for a viva-voce.
• Tie-Breaker: In case of tied marks, written exam score is evaluated first, followed by interview score, PG percentage, professional qualification percentage, and finally age seniority.

5. Pay the application fee through the online payment gateway.
