Eligibility Criteria for CSIR NEERI Recruitment
Educational Qualification
- Technical Assistant (Post Code TA-01): B.Sc. or equivalent with at least 60% marks, plus one year of experience in Science Communication from a recognized institute/organization.
- Technical Officer (Civil – TO-01): B.E./B.Tech or equivalent in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 55% marks.
- Technical Officer (Biochemistry – TO-02): M.Sc. or equivalent in Biochemistry with a minimum of 55% marks.
- Technical Officer (Microbiology – TO-03): M.Sc. or equivalent in Microbiology with a minimum of 55% marks.
- Technical Officer (Chemical – TO-04): B.E./B.Tech or equivalent in Chemical Engineering with at least 55% marks.
- Technical Officer (Chemistry – TO-05): M.Sc. or equivalent in Chemistry with a minimum of 55% marks.
- Technical Officer (Geo-informatics – TO-06): B.E./B.Tech or equivalent in Geo-informatics with at least 55% marks.
- Technical Officer (Geology – TO-07): M.Sc. or equivalent in Geology with at least 55% marks.
- Technical Officer (Business Development/IPR – TO-08): MBA with a minimum of 55% marks.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 years.
- Upper Age Limit (as on 15/10/2026):
- Technical Assistant: 28 years.
- Technical Officer: 30 years.
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST gets up to 5 years, OBC (NCL) gets up to 3 years (only where posts are reserved). PwBD candidates receive 10 years (up to 15 years for SC/ST, 13 years for OBC). Ex-Servicemen and regular Government/CSIR employees also receive relaxation as per rules.

CSIR NEERI Recruitment Selection Process
- Applications are shortlisted by a Screening Committee based on eligibility and qualifications.
- Shortlisted candidates appear for a qualifying Trade Test.
- Candidates qualifying the Trade Test appear for a 3-paper competitive written test (Mental Ability, General Awareness/English, and Concerned Subject).
- Paper-I is qualifying; final merit is prepared strictly on the combined marks of Paper-II and Paper-III.
