The notification was published on September 12, 2026. The application process starts from the same date. The completed application must reach India Optel Headquarters by October 3, 2026.

India Optel Recruitment 2026: Eligibility Criteria
- For Project Technician posts, candidates should have passed Matriculation and possess the relevant NTC/NAC trade certificate issued by NCVT. The trade certificate should match the post applied for. No fixed experience is prescribed for these posts. Engineering degree or diploma holders without the required NTC/NAC qualification are not eligible for these posts.
- For the Welfare Officer post, candidates need a full-time Bachelor’s degree with at least 60% marks and a postgraduate Degree/Diploma in Social Work, Human Resource Management or Labour Welfare. They must also have two years of relevant labour welfare experience in a factory after qualification.
- For Junior Project Engineer posts, qualifications differ by discipline. The Chemical post requires a first-class full-time regular B.Sc. in Chemistry with 60% marks and five years of relevant experience. Electrical, Electronics and Mechanical posts require relevant three-year diplomas with 60% marks and five years of relevant experience. Optics & Coating requires a first-class B.Sc. with Physics and Mathematics as major subjects, along with five years of relevant experience.
For Consultant (Coordination), the candidate should be a retired Indian Army officer of the rank of Major or Lieutenant Colonel from the specified Army branches.
Only Indian Nationals can apply.
Age Limit
The age limit is different for each post:
- Project Technician: 18–32 years
- Junior Project Engineer: 18–35 years
- Welfare Officer: 27–45 years
- Consultant: Maximum 62 years
Age is counted on the closing date. Applicable Government of India age relaxation will be provided according to the notification.
India Optel Recruitment 2026: Salary
The salary offered varies by post.
- Project Technicians will receive ₹20,000–₹65,000, while Junior Project Engineers will receive ₹30,000–₹1,20,000.
- The Welfare Officer pay scale is ₹40,000–₹1,40,000.
- Consultants will receive ₹1,00,000 per month for retired Majors and ₹1,30,000 per month for retired Lieutenant Colonels. Applicable IDA, HRA and medical benefits are also provided as mentioned in the notification.
India Optel Recruitment 2026: Selection Process
The selection process depends on the post. Project Technician candidates will be screened and shortlisted for a practical Trade Test. Final merit will be based on NTC/NAC marks after qualifying the Trade Test.
For Welfare Officer, shortlisted candidates will appear for a personal interview. For Junior Project Engineer, final merit will be based on 75% qualification marks and 25% interview marks. Consultant candidates will be selected through screening and personal interview. Original documents will be verified before the Trade Test or interview.
