CPCB Recruitment 2026: The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has released a recruitment notification for 51 contractual posts under the Strengthening of Environmental Regulators (SER)-Phase-III Project on River Ganga. The posts include Scientist-D, Scientist-C, Scientist-B, Assistant Manager (Finance), Scientific Assistant, Taxonomist, Data Entry Operator and Field Assistant. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online from 24 August 2026 to 7 September 2026. There is no application fee for this recruitment.
The initial engagement is for one year, subject to extension as per the project requirements.
The posts are connected with the SER-Phase-III Project.
The recruitment does not provide any right to regular appointment in CPCB.
Posting may be at CPCB offices in Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata or Chandigarh, as decided by CPCB.

The required qualification is different for each post.
Candidates must have the required degree and experience by the closing date of the application.
Candidates waiting for final-year results are not eligible.
Degrees must be from recognized institutions as required in the notification.
Only the qualifications and experience specified for the particular post will be accepted.

First Class master’s in environmental/Natural Science or First-Class relevant Engineering/Technology degree, along with required publications/reports and 7 years relevant experience
Scientist-C
Relevant First-Class Master’s/Engineering degree, required publications/reports and 5 years relevant experience
Scientist-B
Relevant First-Class Master’s/Engineering degree with valid GATE 90%+ percentile or NET-JRF, plus required experience
Assistant Manager (Finance)
First Class master’s in commerce, CA or MBA in Finance/Accounting, with 8 years post-qualification experience
Administrative Assistant
First Class Bachelor’s degree with computer knowledge and at least 5 years post-qualification administrative experience
Scientific Assistant
Relevant First Class Master’s/Engineering degree with valid GATE 90%+ percentile or NET-JRF
Taxonomist
First Class M.Sc.; Botany/Zoology Master’s is desirable, along with required GATE/NET-JRF and publication/report requirements
Data Entry Operator
First Class bachelor’s degree in science/BCA and required computer typing skill
Field Assistant
10+2 in Science with at least 55% marks and knowledge of water/wastewater sampling
Data Entry Operator candidates must pass the required MS Office skill test.
The required typing speed is 45 words per minute in English and 35 words per minute in Hindi.
Field Assistant candidates should have knowledge of water/wastewater sampling and sample preservation.
Candidates must carefully check the detailed qualification for their chosen post before applying.
As stated in the notification, there is no age relaxation for reserved categories, ex-servicemen or in-service candidates for these contractual appointments.

Interview
CPCB may use written examination, marks, experience, higher qualification or other suitable criteria for shortlisting if applications are received in large numbers.
Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview.
The interview will be held in Delhi.
Candidates must bring original certificates and required self-attested copies.
No TA/DA or accommodation will be provided for attending the interview.
